Aushaq Malla's second paper is out today showing that DOT1L selectively drives production of major satellite repeat transcripts, thus indirectly sustaining heterochromatin via its function as a transcriptional activator. See the exciting story here.

Aushaq Malla's beautiful story showing that the histone methyltransferase DOT1L is necessary for histone-to-protamine replacement during spermatogenesis is out in Development. See it here. Don't forget to see the complementary work from the Wang and Cocquet labs, out at the same time, here and here.
